Responsibilities

Aims at developing and implementing the IT infrastructure, applications, online services, and facilities utilized by government organizations to deliver online services to the community. It is also responsible for designing and managing ITA IT infrastructure and is modelled on the technical architecture proposed in the strategy.

Government e-Services

  • Develops a common service delivery framework to be utilized in delivering government services online
  • Implements and manages the e-services gateway and presentation layer for all government online services
  • Implements and manages all shared and common services utilized by government organizations in developing e-services
  • Implements and manages a customer relationship management layer, i.e. contact centre, for responding to citizens inquiries in relation to online services
  • Infrastructure & Facilities
  • Manages the underlying networking and telecom infrastructures utilized in linking the government technical infrastructures and providing connectivity to government organizations
  • Implements and manages hosting sites and data centres for IT and networking systems and infrastructures
  • Implements and manages disaster recovery facilities and infrastructures for the government
  • Implements and manages basic IT and networking services for the government such as common email and domain names services
  • Applications and e-Services
  • Implements and manages the Government Nervous System (the enterprise integration architecture for the government)
  • Develops and guides the implementation of application communities of interest in the government
  • Develops and guides the implementation of and access to shared databases required for developing applications and delivering services
  • Guides the development and optimization of e-services through business process re-engineering
  • Manages end-to-end synchronization and delivery of services

Internal IT Services

  • Develops ITA IT strategy and recommends enhancements and new services to be developed for ITA
  • Manages and operates ITA IT and networking infrastructure including all IT systems and services
  • Adopts best practices in daily operations
  • Develops budgets for ITA infrastructure enhancement and refreshment
  • Operates help desk and support services to ITA employees
