Responsibilities

Aims at ensuring that implementation and operation of initiatives, projects and IT systems are conducted according to unified and predefined standards and guidelines adopted internally in ITA and externally by other government organizations in Oman. Also, Perform necessary account management functions in ITA and coordinate relationship establishment between ITA and other organizations in Oman

The Division Fulfils its responsibilities through the following division units:

IT Governance

  • Development of IT related standards, policies, frameworks and guidelines for adoption by government organizations and in ITA projects
  • Act as an advisory unit to other organizations with respect to IT governance and standards
  • Audit and monitor implementation of IT governance and standards in government organizations and in ITA
  • Continuous enhancement of IT standards and governance frameworks.
  • Development of Information security related Systems, standards, policies, and guidelines for adoption by ITA and other government organizations.
  • Act as an advisory unit to other organizations with respect to security governance and standards
  • Audit and monitor implementation of security governance and standards in government organizations and in ITA
  • Continuous enhancement of security standards and governance frameworks
  • Development of program and project management methodology for ITA and other government organizations
  • Maintain and enhance proposed program and project management methodology
  • Assist ITA and other organizations in achieving project management certification for individuals and as organizations

Laws & Regulations

  • Regulatory compliance review, management and advisory to ITA and other government organizations in relation to laws and regulations issued in Oman by authorities
  • Management of development and maintenance lifecycle of e-Legislation in collaboration with relevant authorities
  • Monitor the development of e-Legislation on global scale and recommend relevant e-Legislation to Oman
  • Participate with authorities in drafting e-Legislation
  • Act as advisor to ITA and other government organizations with respect to implementation and compliance to e-Legislation

Relationship & Advisory Services

  • Manage relationships between ITA and other government organizations and ensure that a link exists between ITA and other stakeholders at the various levels
  • Perform necessary account management functions in ITA and coordinate relationship establishment between ITA and other organizations in Oman
  • Synchronize and provide required technical and business advisory services to other organizations from resources existing in this Office and other competency centres in ITA
  • Maintain a knowledge base to assist in providing technical and business advisory services
