Highlights of the Business Section in COMeX 2012

Information Technology plays a major role in the business world today. A lot of companies offer many e-services in order to make it easier for their clients to finalize their deals, with no need to physically visit the company. There are many other e-services, and all of them look for the consumer’s comfort. The business section in COMEX this year has a lot of participants, with some companies taking a part of the exhibition for the first time.

IT Super Store is a network security company which is specialized in providing safe internet surfing, and also keeps one’s e-mail safe from being hacked. IT Super Store has devices to keep big companies computers and data secured. Another participant in the business section is the über-famous web search engine company, Google. Google have brought with them this year an enterprise solution, showcasing productivity solutions for business.

They also have something called Google Apps for Business, which are basically applications that help businesses work more efficiently in the business world, with a focus on security, mobility and streamlining daily tasks. Google Apps for Education, which offer free email and collaboration tools for schools, is another new innovation from the company, as is the ever popular Google Maps. These four showcased innovations from Google are what the company seems to be focusing on this year at COMEX.

Microsoft, one of the world’s leading companies in the world of technology, is showcasing its latest operating system Windows8. Microsoft is previewing the consumer version of Windows8, as well as Office365. Office365 allows one to collaborate in the Cloud, with Office, Exchange, SharePoint and Lync video-conferencing. Visitors to the Microsoft booth in COMEX 2012 will get a sneak preview of Windows8, which has not been put on sale yet.

Oman Fiber Optic is a company which is specialized in manufacturing wire cables. These wires actually are not ordinary wires, but are wires that are used to deliver fibre optics. The wires are made of glass and signals are transfer as light through them! One cable contains anywhere from 2 to 288 cores. The company sells the fibre optic wires to many organizations and industries such as Oman Mobile, Nawras, Ministry of Education (MoE), Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), and many more.

There are many other participants in the business section in COMEX, such as Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA); IoTap, which is a partner of Microsoft; and, Gulf Cybertech, which offers web designing and web-based solutions. All of these companies and more are offering a lot of interesting and innovative ideas that are worth getting a closer look at.
