National ePayment Gateway ushers Oman’s eGovernment forward to the transactional phase

The national e-payment gateway championed by the Information Technology Authority’s (ITA) of Oman is formally launched on the 30th August 2008 at the Grand Hyatt hotel – Afrah Ball room under the auspices of HE Lt. General Malik Sulaiman Al Ma’amari, Inspector General of Police and Customs in the august presence of HE Mohammed Nasser Al Khasibi, Chairman of ITA and other high level dignitaries.

eOman services to be operational by October

MUSCAT — Ubar portal, the Sultanate’s main gateway to electronic services offered by the government, will be launched in July with its operational phase scheduled for October, Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer of Information Technology Authority (ITA), said here yesterday. Speaking at the first Ubar portal content workshop at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Dr Ruzaiqi said Oman’s e-readiness ranking has gone higher over the last two years.

Education Technology Conference begin under the auspices of Chairman of ITA

MUSCAT — The opening ceremony of the International Conference on Educational Technology (ICOET 2008) was held at Sultan Qaboos University yesterday under the auspices of Mohammed bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Economy and Chairman of the IT Authority Oman. Dr Ali bin Saud al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of SQU, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony. The three-day event is jointly organised by the SQU Centre for Educational Technology and the College of Education.
