eServices uptake in the Sultanate according to a survey by ITA

ROP electronic services are the most used and popular services in the Sultanate, according to a survey done by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) in April 2017, to assess individual’s awareness and usage of government electronic services and the challenges behind not using the services. The survey was targeted to Omani citizens and residents in Muscat. The data were gathered from 1779 respondents through field data collection (67%) and online link shared via ITA social media channels (33%).

The Information Technology Authority (ITA), celebrated yesterday Tuesday at Sas Center for Mobile Apps Development, the closing and awarding ceremony of the 2nd edition of WikiOman Competition which was organized during 1st March to 30th June 2017, with aim of increasing the Arabic eContent on the free encyclopedia (Wikipedia). The first 3 winners who contributed in writing and publishing the best articles on Wikipedia were announced during the celebration as well as honoring a number of participants.

Public and Government Employees receive IT Training in Salalah

On the sideline of its participation at Salalah Tourism Festival 2017, the Information Technology Authority (ITA), represented by the Digital Society Development Division, conducted a number of training programs and workshops in the use of information technology that aim to enhance the trainees skills and competencies in this field to help them benefit themselves and the organizations they work in and the society in general.

40 Kids Participate in the Second Edition Of IT Kids Innovation Theater

9 New Companies Join Sas for Entrepreneurship

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) celebrated the incubation of 9 new companies, which joined SAS Center for Entrepreneurship recently. SAS is a specialized center, which was launched in 2013 to create and incubate the emerging Omani companies in ICT sector. The incubated companies are provided with various services and facilities including an office in the knowledge Oasis – Muscat, technical consultancies, in addition to accounting, financial, marketing and legal services
