The Sultanate participates in the 24th session of The Arab C&I ministers’ council

The Sultanate participated on Thursday (17/12/2020) in the 24th session of the council of Arab Minister for Communications and information, which was held and organized virtually by the Technical secretariat of the council of Arab Minister for Communications and information. His Excellency Ali Bin Amur Al-Shidhani, Undersecretary of Communications and IT, represented the Sultanate's delegation, accompanied by specialists from the ministry and Telecommunications Regulatory authority(TRA).
The agenda of this session highlighted many vital issues. It started with revealing the result of the 38th meeting of the permanent Arab postal committee and discussing Coronavirus spillover on the postal sector and the permanent Arab postal committee's activities.
Moreover, the result of the 46th session of the Arab permanent Communications and information committee were showcased. During this, many critical issues were discussed, such as the joint Arab cooperation in the other regional ICT organizations. Additionally, the members discussed the Arab initiative for internet governance in the Arabian region. Progressively also The details of the Arab Digital content forum and WTDC21. It also discussed issues related to cybersecurity, crime-fighting, countering terrorism on the internet, and the role of ICTs in curbing Corona's effects.
The undersecretary, his Excellency, discussed during the welcoming speech to their Excellencies, Oman 2040 future vision and the pivotal role the etransformation will take in bolstering Communications and IT infrastructure. Moreover, it will empower startups, encourage digital innovation, employing modern technologies, and shaping a prosperous Digital economy. As it is always and, on many occasions, has been focused on by His Majesty.
