Oman Summer of Code Proposal Submission Steps
Step 1
A group candidates (between 2-3 members) should identify the area of the idea/project/SME and choose a mentor. They can select their idea from the proposed list by MTC or any idea of their choice.
Step 2
Each team should select a potential mentor either an academic or an employee in ICT field from the public or private sector.
Step 3
Team: after getting the approval of their mentor, the team has to select Team Leader.
Step 4
Each team should write their project proposal, identifies individual member roles, creates project timeline and itemized resources requirement. The proposal should clearly state the relation between project subject and FOSS.
Step 5
Team leader of each project should send their proposal to Oman Summer of Code team.
Step 6
The team members & mentor will receive notification mail if their proposal is received.
Step 7
The teams with accepted proposals will start their project implementation & will go through 3 technical evaluations.
Step 8
Best selected projects will go through mentor-ship process for 3 months period.
Step 9
Best Winning team members will be sponsored to attend international FOSS conference overseas. In addition, the promising and winning projects will be announced and rewarded during the final ceremony of Oman Summer of Code.
Required Reports
1. Project proposal (After registration is Accepted)
Before starting the project, Each team leader, in collaboration with her/his project team & their mentor are required to send project proposal as per the template sent from the Evaluation Committee.
2. Progress Report & Presentation
Each team leader, in collaboration with her/his project team & their mentor are required to send a progress report to Evaluation Committee after the completion of the first half of the project duration & schedule time to present project progress.
3. Final Report & Presentation
After the completion of the project, the team should send the final report and schedule time to present their final project implementations.
