About Oman Logistics Center
The Oman Logistics Center is the cornerstone of Oman’s efforts to become a leading global logistics hub. Established as part of the National Logistics Strategy 2040, the center aims to transform Oman into a regional and global logistics center. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, and leads the implementation of the national logistics sector strategy. The center’s objectives include:
- Enhancing the contribution of the logistics sector to the GDP: By increasing investment and developing key logistics infrastructure such as ports, airports, and road networks.
- Improving Oman’s global ranking in logistics services: The center seeks to raise Oman’s position in global performance indices such as the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and the Global Competitiveness Index.
- Creating new job opportunities: By attracting global logistics companies and developing local skills within the sector, aiming to create 300,000 jobs by 2040.
- Facilitating trade: By improving customs operations and procedures and creating a more business-friendly environment for companies.
