The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) organized on Sunday a workshop on GPT-3 technology in artificial intelligence and its economic and social impacts.The workshop was under the patronage of HE Dr. Ali bin Amur Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of Communications and Information Technology at MTCIT, and with the participation of a number of representatives of government agencies, the private sector and a number of representatives of local startups.

Coinciding with the selection of Muscat as a digital Arab capital 2022, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, represented by the Directorate General of Sector Stimulation and Future Skills, organized today, Wednesday, in cooperation with Huawei-Oman, and in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), the Huawei Regional ICT Competition 2022.The Competition is  Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Hamad Al-Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, with the participation of 11 countries from the Middle East and Asia: Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Kazakhstan.

MTCIT signs MoU with Amazon to launch cloud data services In Sultanate of Oman

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American company Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch cloud data service centers in the Sultanate of Oman under the name “Amazon Web Services” (AWS) Data Center District. This is part of the Ministry's efforts to attract foreign technology companies with an international reputation to invest in the ICT sector in Oman. Amazon implements this technology in The Sultanate of Oman as the first country in the Middle East after its successful implementation in the United States of America.
